Hello Toros Families!
I hope that everyone is having a great start to their holiday season and has already gotten a head start on their New Year's resolutions! ;)
Our leadership group at Toros recently got together, and we wanted to share with you a few things that we are thankful for as we hit the halfway point of our 24/25 season!
First, foremost, and consistent with every year we have existed, we are thankful for your trust in providing developmental opportunities for your children. We know that you come to us looking for a soccer experience but hope that you feel as though your child is getting much more than that.
We are thankful for the amazing support that we get from our families and volunteers. There were a number of families that came to us from other clubs at the start of this year, and we have heard from many of them that the sense of community is much stronger than they were previously. We were blown away at the involvement and participation at our fundraising event during the fall season and are looking forward to more events in the future.
We are thankful for the opportunity to provide all of the winter training opportunities that we do at no extra cost. Being able to provide the training sessions to those that are wanting more, while not placing a financial burden on those players or the ones that cannot attend everything but want to attend when they can, is very important to us. Although we would LOVE to see all of our players at all of our training sessions, we take great pride in not placing an extra cost on those sessions so that we aren't excluding those that perhaps otherwise wouldn't attend.
We are thankful that we are starting to see players get recognized for the skills that they are learning at AC Toros! We have nearly 50 players participating in the Wisconsin ODP program this 24/25 season, which is an absolutely amazing percentage of our players. Beyond that, Toros will be represented by George Nikolic (2013B) at a National ID event in Orlando, FL next month and Toros was recently represented by Reese Zomboracz (2010G) at a US Talent ID Center in Rockford, IL earlier this month. These opportunities exemplify the fact that players can progress and develop the skills necessary to be considered elite players at AC Toros.
We are thankful for our coaches, which give countless nights and weekends to provide players with the opportunity to learn and grow. You see them at training sessions and games, but what you don't see is the time they put into planning for those events, along with any other educational or administrative tasks that they are working on as well. We are biased, but we truly believe that we have one of the best coaching staffs in the state!!!!
We are thankful for our managers!!! They do way more work than anyone that doesn't do that role will ever know. A lot of the legwork for tournaments will fall on them, and we all know that collecting money is never a fun job. :) Many of them are connecting with coaches on a weekly basis and keeping the schedule in-tact while the coaches are doing the work on the field. Teams would crumble without the work that they do, and that is no joke.
We are also thankful for our jersey sponsor, Hiller Ford, which provides us with financial support so that we can continue to offer all of the things that we do! With that said, if you are looking at purchasing or leasing a new vehicle in 2025 (or still this year), please be sure to stop in at Hiller Ford and mention that you are a part of the Toros program! Hiller Ford will make an additional donation to AC Toros for every leased or purchased vehicle when the buyer mentions Toros.
Once again, thank you to everyone that continues to participate in the AC Toros program, and we look forward to seeing what 2025 brings!
Sincerely,
Eric Natwick
AC-Toros Select Director
